The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued a pollution advisory for Saturday, Dec. 14, that requires residents not to use wood burning fireplaces, stoves, chimeneas and outdoor fire pits.
The state also recommends driving less and avoiding use of leaf blowers, according to an ADEQ release.
A high-pollution advisory means the highest concentration of pollution may exceed the federal health standard.
Active children, adults and people with lung disease such as asthma should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion, state officials said.
