Arizona health services department keeps national accreditation

Posted

The Arizona Department of Health Services has maintained national accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board.

ADHS was evaluated against a set of comprehensive national standards, according to a release.

“Reaccreditation ensures health departments continue to evolve, improve and advance public health practice in support of the communities they serve,” the release stated, adding ADHS is one of more than 400 nationally accredited health departments.

It has had the distinction since 2017.

“It’s a testament to our commitment to exceptional standards throughout Arizona and we’re honored to continue to hold this status along with health departments in Maricopa, Mohave, Pima and Yavapai counties, as well as the Pascua Yaqui Health Services Division,” ADHS Executive Deputy Director Jennie Cunico said.
