Arizona Community Foundation pushes for year-end giving

Organization rang in National Philanthropy Day on Nov. 15

The Arizona Community Foundation is supporting National Philathropy Day on Nov. 15 with visits around the state to boost giving and recognize those who are making contributions to their community.

The day marks the beginning of the end-of-year giving cycle, ACF officials said, and with more than 28,000 nonprofits across the state, there is a need around the region.

ACF’s President and CEO Anna María Chávez was in Flagstaff on National Philanthropy Day, where she was talking with local donors and community leaders at one of ACF’s five regional offices.

“We are proud to be a catalyst for positive change in Arizona, and National Philanthropy Day is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the meaningful work we’ve done together with our community partners and donors,” said Chávez in a press releasen.

ACF has given more than $60 million in grants and scholarships across the state druing the past six months. The group was planning other events from Sedona to to the Valley as a way to boost end-of-year giving.
