Arizona adds 530 cases, 15 deaths of coronavirus

The Arizona Department of Health Services is reporting 22,753 cases and 996 deaths in the state, up 530 and 15 from Wednesday, respectively.
The increase in cases Thursday comes after three straight days in which the state added over 900 cases, including a high of 1,127 on Tuesday.
The Maricopa County Department of Public Health reports 11,150 cases and 451 deaths in Arizona’s most populous county.
For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. But for some — especially older adults and people with existing health problems — it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.

Arizona does not report recoveries yet but is displaying the number of cases discharged from the hospital. That amount is at 5,172 — or 22.7% of total cases — as of Thursday.
