DPS academy graduates 54 Arizona troopers at Mesa ceremony

Posted

Fifty-four troopers graduated last week from the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s trooper academy.

The class is made up of 30 cadets and 24 officers, who transferred from other law enforcement agencies, according to a DPS release.

Gov. Katie Hobbs attended the graduation, and DPS Col. Jeffrey Glover, who directs the law enforcement agency, administered the trooper oath at the Mesa ceremony.

Each of the new troopers will begin their 12-week field training program, during which time they will each be paired with senior troopers as they begin their highway patrol duties, the release stated.
