Some $40 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will be invested in clean school buses for school districts across Arizona.

The Clean School Bus Awards will provide 114 electric buses to 23 different school districts across Arizona, including five districts in the Phoenix area.

Recipients include:

  • Phoenix Elementary School District: Six electric buses. Kindergarten through 8th grade, 15-school district established in 1871 as the first free public school district in Arizona.
  • Creighton Elementary School District: Two electric buses. K–8, 10-school district based in Phoenix. Founded in 1884.
  • Laveen Elementary School District: Five electric buses. K–8, eight-school district for Laveen, just southwest of Phoenix.
  • Phoenix Union High School District: Four electric buses. With 24 schools, more than 28,000 students, and nearly 4,000 employees.
  • Roosevelt Elementary School District: One electric bus. District includes 19 schools in the Phoenix area.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law led by Senator Kyrsten Sinema and shaped by Senator Mark Kelly makes the largest investment in clean energy transmission and electric vehicle infrastructure in U.S. history, according to a press release. It will electrify thousands of school and transit buses across the country, improve energy efficiency, and build out a national network of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
