Three Maricopa County officials will discuss the upcoming general election at a meeting Nov. 1 in Scottsdale.

The 8-9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, coffee with Maricopa County Supervisor Bill Gates, Recorder Stephen Richer and Sheriff Paul Penzone will take place at EGGstasy, 6990 E. Shea Blvd. An RSVP is requested by Friday, Oct. 28, to: district3@maricop.gov.

Officials remain concerned over disinformation being circulated about Maricopa County’s elections and procedures.

Richer, Gates and others recently conducted a news conference to discuss the county’s elections procedures among other topics linked to Election Day.

Gates said “democracy is on the line,” and while he said he is confident in the county election team, he is concerned about “bad behavior” among those who question the validity of the 2020 election and the upcoming vote.

“I’m concerned about people not acknowledging basic principles of morality and truth,” he said.

Gates, chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, conducts coffee meetings every month “to meet with constituents in smaller venues around District 3,” a county spokesperson said.

“He chooses topical matters, and elections is number one right now.”
