Mesa council hopefuls queried on issues at candidate forum

They spoke on economic hubs, property taxes, updating city’s general plan and more

The Mesa council candidates for the 2024 election were put to the test during Tuesday’s candidate forum at the Mesa Council Chambers.

Hosted by KTAR’s Mike Broomhead, the candidates were asked various questions relating to Mesa’s economic and business hubs, private property taxes, the city’s general plan and more in front of a live audience.

District 1 candidates present consisted of U.S. Air Force veteran and local businessowner Ron Williams; Richard Adams, who has served and chaired numerous Mesa boards; current Mesa assistant director of business services Tim Meyer; and Zachary Hichez, who is a paramedic and EMT.
