With three seats set to open on the Deer Valley Unified School District’s governing board this November, nine potential candidates have filed statements of interest to run.
Listed in order of their filing date with the Arizona Secretary of State's Office, those who have filed statements of interest to run for the three seats are Karen Pack, Terri Roberts, Kim Fisher, Melody Holehan-Kopas, Jennie Paperman, Tiffany Hawkins, Stephen Bottfeld, Ann Ordway and Julie Stockwell.
Aspiring candidates must file a statement of interest before the candidate begins collecting petition signatures. Filing a statement of interest indicates a person is collecting petition signatures for a possible nomination. However, it is not a formal declaration of candidacy.
