$608K to benefit statewide community programs

Three nonprofits operating in Glendale were among the 126 statewide agencies to receive financial support from Cox Communications.

Cox employees raised $608,708 and distributed those funds to state nonprofit community agencies focused on youth and education programs. Most of the funds come from employee-driven fundraisers and donations by Cox employees and their families.

Among those receiving money were:

  • A New Leaf West Valley Family Care Clinic, 8581 N. 61st Ave., Suite A ($7,500)
  • YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix, 8561 N. 61st Ave. ($5,000)
  • Deer Valley Education Foundation ($3,500)

This marks the 26th year that Cox employees, through Cox Charities, have raised funds to help local communities. Since 1996, Cox Arizona employees have raised $9.7 million and awarded grants to 1,719 local Arizona nonprofits.

“I am immensely proud of our Cox employees who are great at their jobs and so committed to helping local nonprofits deliver vital services in our community,” Percy Kirk, Cox Arizona senior vice president and region manager stated in a news release. “This year, Cox employees raised nearly $40,000 more than last year for distribution in this 2022 grant cycle.”
