A Glendale nonprofit was one of 14 organizations around Metro Phoenix that OneAZ Credit Union and the OneAZ Community Foundation presented with Community Impact Grants of $5,000 each.
“Through the 2022 Community Impact Grant program, 14 Phoenix-area nonprofit organizations will be able to fund programs that enrich lives in our members’ communities,” Gregory Russo, OneAZ central regional president, shared in a statement. “OneAZ is grateful to these nonprofits for helping to feed those in need, support veterans and build strong communities.”
This year, the OneAZ Community Foundation is awarding $250,000 in Community Impact Grants to 50 nonprofits statewide; a record since the Foundation launched in 2016.
One of the OneAZ Community Impact Grants went to Arizona YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix, at 8561 N. 61st Ave., in Glendale. AZ YWCA serves seniors primarily and according to its website the facility has served 106,679 senior meals.
The AZ YWCA this spring also hosted a full day of personal, free preventative health care, featuring various organizations to help members lead a healthy lifestyle. All community residents were welcome.
The Community Impact Grant program is an annual program that provides money for Arizona-based nonprofit projects or initiatives that promote the well-being of the communities we serve. Nonprofit organizations that apply for grants must have a project or initiative that supports either children’s health, food banks, financial education, veterans’ interests, or local youth programs.
Funding for the Community Impact Grant program is made possible in large part due to OneAZ members’ debit card use. Each time a member swipes their OneAZ debit card, one cent is donated to the OneAZ Community Foundation.
Since 2016, the OneAZ Community Foundation has provided $750,000 in grants and funding to Arizona nonprofit organizations through this funding and other donations.
