Why I’m running for Arizona state treasurer

OPINION — Arizona’s state treasurer holds one of the most important roles in state government — not for headlines or politics, but for safeguarding billions of taxpayer dollars. This responsibility requires discipline, restraint and the judgment to avoid risky decisions with public funds.

As an Arizona native, I believe in our state’s independence, opportunity and responsibility to leave it stronger for the next generation. I’m running for state treasurer because what’s at stake is too important for careless or reckless management.

My priority is simple: protect taxpayer dollars, keep them secure and accessible and grow them responsibly. Throughout my career — advancing policy on Capitol Hill, managing investments and building organizations that support families and workers — I’ve been trusted to manage resources with care. Every public dollar represents someone’s hard work and future, and that must never be forgotten.
