Scottsdale Airport schedules routine runway maintenance

A full closure of the Scottsdale Airport will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 and is scheduled to reopen at noon Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Scottsdale Airport will temporarily close Runway 03/21 and all taxiways in October for scheduled pavement preservation maintenance designed to extend the life of the existing airfield.

The routine preservation project does not expand or lengthen the runway, change its weight-bearing capacity or enable the airport to accommodate larger aircraft, according to a press release.

It is separate from the ongoing Airport Master Plan process.
