The Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors (Scottsdale Realtors) supports the Scottsdale Unified School District budget override and Fountain Hills and Paradise Valley school district bonds in the November 2023 General Election.
We know the value good schools have on homeownership. For every dollar spent on public schools, potential home values appreciate by 20 dollars. Decades of independent research continues to support the correlation of increased home values within higher-scoring school districts. If you value your home, vote yes on the school bonds or overrides in your community.
Scottsdale Realtors supports the following unified school district 2023 ballot measures for capital improvements and academic programming needs.
Scottsdale: Maintenance & Operations Override renewal at .3288% interest for seven years. Cost to average homeowner is $172.21 per year. Potential home value appreciation is $3,444.20 per year.
Fountain Hills: $25M bond at 12% or less interest per year; 16 years maturity. Cost to average homeowner is $105.23 per year. Potential home value appreciation is $2,104.60 per year.
Paradise Valley: $340M bond renewal at 10% or less interest per year; four years maturity. Cost to homeowners is $47 per $100,000 of assessed value (AV) per year and potential home value appreciation is $940 per $100,000 AV per year.
Students need access to well-maintained and safe schools. Don’t let our schools fall into disrepair. By directly funding necessary repair and maintenance needs, it reduces the pressure our schools consistently face, choosing between teacher retention or funding emergency facility repairs. Make a wise investment in your community by voting yes on the school override and bonds.
This is a “ballot by mail” election. Ballots go out on Oct. 11. Voters have the option to return their ballot by mail, drop it off at a secure ballot drop box or voting location, or vote a replacement ballot in-person. Oct. 31 is the last day to mail back your ballot to ensure it is received by Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Visit BeBallotReady.vote to track your ballot, find a drop box or polling place.
