Fall makes a splash in Scottsdale

Dunkin’ for Pumpkins returns with a floating pumpkin patch, fall crafts, carnival games and a uniquely Arizona way to celebrate the season

Pumpkin picking usually means hayrides, dusty fields and, if the weather cooperates, maybe even a sweater. In Scottsdale, it can also mean a swimsuit.

The city’s Dunkin’ for Pumpkins event returns Sunday, Oct. 25, at McDowell Mountain Ranch Park & Aquatic Center, 15525 N. Thompson Peak Parkway, where families can swap a traditional pumpkin patch for one that floats. Sessions are 1-3 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.

“Only in Arizona can you go for a swim and pick out your pumpkin,” said Kristen Clark, parks and recreation operations supervisor for the City of Scottsdale.
