Fall rides into Scottsdale at MacDonald’s Ranch

Pumpkins, pony rides, mischievous goats and the return of horse-drawn wagon rides make the annual pumpkin patch a desert tradition.

Fall in Scottsdale does not exactly arrive with crunchy leaves and sweater weather. At MacDonald’s Ranch, though, October still looks the part.

For generations of Valley families, the longtime north Scottsdale ranch has been one of the places where fall in the desert actually feels like fall. Each October, the property fills with pumpkins, hay bales, games, animals and plenty of photo-worthy spots for its annual Pumpkin Patch, which runs Oct. 3-31.

“It is because of our wonderful staff and their hard work that our ranch becomes a magical place for guests to enjoy fall in the desert,” said Kelcie D. Binnion, director of operations and event manager.
