Cactus Reining Classic receives 2022 ‘Best of Scottsdale’ award

Annual equestrian event returns March 23

Cactus Reining Classic has been selected for the 2022 Best of Scottsdale award in the local business category by the Scottsdale Award Program.

Scottsdale-based Brumley Management Group, LLC, owned and operated by Amanda Brumley, has been hosting the Cactus Reining Classic for about 20 years.

Each year, the Scottsdale Award Program identifies companies that it believes have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category, according to a press release. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Scottsdale area a great place to live, work and play, the press release stated.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2022 Scottsdale Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Scottsdale Award Program and data provided by third parties.

The Cactus Reining Classic is a Top 10 National Reining Horse Association event. It first began at WestWorld of Scottsdale in 2005, and has continued to grow in attendance and prize money since, the event's website states.

The 2022 Cactus Reining Classic will be held at WestWorld March 23-27. The multi-day event includes an Open Derby division on Saturday, March 26, where  horse trainers will compete in  the final million-dollar-competition qualifier for this year’s Run for a Million.

The Top 10 places will join the riders who already qualified for the 2021 Run for a Million Open Shootout to compete for $1 million prize money.

The Scottsdale Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Scottsdale area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
