A number of Scottsdale schools made the list

SCOTTSDALE — With football season right around the corner, the AIA has released its preseason rankings for both girls flag football and boys tackle football and a number of Scottsdale schools made the cut.

For flag football, the 5A State Runner-up Chaparral is ranked fifth in preseason rankings, as the team returns most of its players from their breakout year last season.

For tackle football, the reigning 5A State Champion Desert Mountain is ranked no. 2, while the Horizon Huskies are ranked no. 4.

SCOTTSDALE — With football season right around the corner, the AIA has released its preseason rankings for both girls flag football and boys tackle football and a number of Scottsdale schools made the cut.

For flag football, the 5A State Runner-up Chaparral is ranked fifth in preseason rankings, as the team returns most of its players from their breakout year last season.

For tackle football, the reigning 5A State Champion Desert Mountain is ranked no. 2, while the Horizon Huskies are ranked no. 4.

Meanwhile in 4A, state runner-up Arcadia is ranked no. 2 as they once again chase a shot at the ring.

The season officially kicks off on Thurs., Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.
