Meet Your Neighbor: San Tan Artists Guild

Posted

Town/Neighborhood: The guild membership consists of artists primarily living in and around Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and the San Tan Mountain Range; however, we encourage artists from anywhere in the Valley to join. We have juried and associate memberships that allow artists with a wide range of experience to apply.

What we do: The guild’s mission is to support, encourage and promote the works of our members by providing networking, training, workshops, lectures and show opportunities. We also believe in building community with the arts.

Changes we’d like to see in the area: With all of the growth in the Southeast Valley, we would like to see more art galleries, art festivals and other opportunities for visual artists in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley.

What we are promoting: Currently we are promoting our upcoming Art Show and Sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Queen Creek Olive Mill, 25062 S. Meridian Road in Queen Creek. There will be oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, silk paintings, jewelry, wearable art, prints, glass, ceramics and more. Enjoy a relaxed stroll through the olive grove and take home an original work of art. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the talent of and show support for your local artists. Stop by the San Tan Artists Guild information booth to find out more about us and what we have planned for 2020. Admission is free.

What we’re excited about and why: We are excited about the growth of the San Tan Artists Guild and the energy brought forth by the new board members. There is a full schedule planned for the upcoming year that includes workshops, lectures and field trips. Local and regional exhibition opportunities are on the calendar as well for 2020.

More on the San Tan Artists Guild: Monthly meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Gangplank, 22240 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek. Visit santanartistsguild.com for more information.
