Traditional clothing and food were for sale at a Diwali festival and celebration Oct. 18 at Kyrene del Norte Elementary School. Kriti Dance of Chandler was heavily involved in the stage presentation at the event.

Three Kyrene schools have been awarded the 2026 Arizona Educational Foundation A+ School of ExcellenceTM award. All three Kyrene schools that sought A+ recognition this year were successful in their bids for the coveted award. Fifteen Kyrene schools now hold an A+ recognition.

Kyrene de los Lagos Dual Language Academy
Kyrene del Norte Dual Language Academy
Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School
This is the first time that Kyrene del Norte has been awarded the A+ recognition. Kyrene de los Lagos was previously recognized as an A+ School of Excellence in 2017 and Kyrene del Pueblo was previously recognized in 2015.
Schools applying for this recognition take part in a rigorous process that includes a written application, on-site visits by a team of trained judges and participation by faculty, students and families. Schools are evaluated in areas such as school culture, curriculum, leadership, assessment data and community involvement.
