The local nonprofit Nancy’s Closet has joined the community initiative For Our Town to host “Praise in the Park.”

“Praise in the Park” is designed to bring together families, provide resources and support local entrepreneurs.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18 at Pecan Lake Entertainment, 25004 S. 206th St.

Nancy’s Closet is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to empowering single mothers. For Our Town is a community initiative from the town of Queen Creek and the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce that brings together nonprofits, faith-based organizations, businesses and schools to tackle the town’s most serious issues.

“We are thrilled to host ‘Praise in the Park’ and create an event that not only entertains but also empowers and connects our community,” stated Nancy Haggerty, founder of Nancy’s Closet, in a press release. “Our goal is to create awareness for our local residents by helping them discover what they need to thrive while creating a fun and engaging environment for the entire family.”

"Praise in the Park" will showcase local faith-based and nonprofit organizations while connecting the community with resources and support in a fair-like setting.

Attendees can enjoy a "Battle of the Bands,”  fitness showcases, comedic entertainment, games and attractions for all ages. Local restaurants will provide food and beverages.

Tickets for adults are  $40 and kids' tickets for ages 15 and under are $30. Each ticket includes mini-golf, two games of laser tag or gel blasters, a 10-inch pizza from Your Pie and a fountain drink.

The first 100 families to arrive will receive a swag bag filled with goodies. Attendees can also enjoy the signature “Pecan Praise Craze” beverage and participate in prize giveaways throughout the evening.

Ten percent of all proceeds will benefit the nonprofit community and Nancy’s Closet.
