Shadow Mountain High School will host its Matador Future Freshman Night Sept. 29 for prospective students and families.

Shadow Mountain High School will welcome prospective students and their families to its 2026 Matador Future Freshman Night 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The open house will give incoming ninth-graders an opportunity to explore the campus, learn about academic programs and extracurricular activities, meet faculty and coaches and learn about student support and college and career programs.
The evening begins with a tailgate celebration 5:30-6 p.m., featuring the school drumline, food trucks, free popcorn and a photo booth. A kickoff pep assembly follows at 6 p.m.

Students can explore campus programs and activities while parents attend 15-minute “Roadmap to Success” sessions covering academics, student wellness and support and college and career readiness 6:15-7:15 p.m.
The event concludes with a pep rally 7:15-7:30 p.m.
