Phoenix plans new senior center in Laveen

The city of Phoenix is beginning the design of a new senior center in Laveen.

Phoenix City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved $1 million to Holly Street Studio, LLC for architectural services for the 12,000-square-foot senior center planned in the Aguila Park area southwest of 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.

“I'm excited to see this become a place where Lavine seniors can gather, connect and thrive,” Vice Mayor Kesha Hodge Washington said ahead of Wednesday’s vote.
