Lucas Jumalon, the 22-year-old Grand Canyon University graduate who captured poker’s world championship this summer, made another deep tournament run on Monday, finishing 14th in a record-setting World Series of Poker Circuit event in Austin, Texas.
Jumalon entered the final day of the $1,700 buy-in Main Event at Texas Card House as the chip leader among 18 remaining players. He ultimately finished 14th, earning $19,030, according to tournament results.
The Spokane, Washington, native graduated from GCU’s Phoenix campus this spring with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in business analytics.
