Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, announced plans on Oct. 29 to jointly develop a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Glendale to expand access to specialized rehabilitation services.
Pending regulatory approvals, the partners plan to build a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the campus of Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center. The new facility is projected to open in the second half of 2028 and will provide inpatient rehabilitation care for patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, trauma, amputation and other debilitating illnesses or injuries.
“As the West Valley continues to see rapid growth, it is essential that we expand our clinical footprint to meet the evolving needs of our community,” Anthony Houston, president of Dignity Health Arizona, stated in a press release. “By partnering with Lifepoint Rehabilitation to bring this new, specialized facility to our Westgate campus, we are ensuring that our patients have access to comprehensive care, close to home, that supports them through their health journey.”
