The Phoenix Housing Department and Arizona Quadel are hosting their biannual Owner Open House to introduce property owners to the Housing Choice Voucher program and answer questions about how it works for landlords.

  • When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28
  • Where: Memorial Hall at Steele Indian School Park — 300 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix.

Breakout Sessions

There will be two breakout sessions starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Phoenix Indian School Visitor Center (next door to Memorial Hall) to discuss the following topics:

  • Landlord Education: The city of Phoenix Human Services Department will provide an overview of the Landlord and Tenant Program which provides educational services and information to landlords and tenants on their rights under the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.
  • Section 8 Program Updates: learn what changes are coming to the Housing Choice Voucher program in 2027.

The Housing Department will have voucher program staff onsite, as well as staff from Quadel and other City departments to share information and provide support.

“This open house is an important opportunity for property owners to learn how the Housing Choice Voucher program works, connect with staff in-person, and discover the support available to them,” stated Elenia Sotelo, deputy housing director, in a news release. “By partnering with landlords, we can help expand access to safe, quality housing and strengthen communities across Phoenix.”

HCV Benefits for Property Owners

  • Reliable payments: Landlords receive a monthly subsidy from the city.
  • Tenant stability: Voucher participants are often dependable renters, which can help reduce turnover.
  • Personalized support: Landlords can access a liaison and housing specialists who provide guidance throughout the process.

Light refreshments will be served.
