When young family members come to visit their relatives at Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Care and Education Campus, it can be uncomfortable to interact with a family member who may not recognize them or remember who they are.

“For children and their families, it can be a traumatic experience and awkward,” said Marisa Butler, director of development for The Phoenix Theatre Company.
