The Trump administration has announced it is ending a temporary Biden-era Medicare Part D premium stabilization subsidy on Dec. 31, eliminating roughly $3.6 billion in insurer subsidies. That could raise monthly prescription drug plan premiums for thousands of Arizona beneficiaries starting Jan. 1, 2027. The program, launched in 2025, capped year-to-year premium increases and provided direct monthly discounts. Plan-specific cost information will be released ahead of open enrollment this fall. How does this impact you? Can you afford to pay more for your Part D prescription drug plan?
