Peoria Police Department to host Coffee with a Cop
Arianna Grainey
Peoria Police Department is hosting Coffee with a Cop April 11.
Posted
Another Coffee with a Cop is coming up in Peoria.
Meet officers from the Peoria Police Department and discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.
Everyone is invited to attend, April 11, from 8 to 10 am at The Valley Buzz, 9069 W. Olive Ave Unit #107.
Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Peoria’s neighborhoods.
The majority of contact law enforcement has with the public happens during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee With A Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.
