Peoria Police have arrested a Glendale man suspected of murdering a Phoenix man in downtown Peoria, according to a news release.
Officers arrested Michael Villareal, 37, at his residence without incident at about 2 p.m., April 11.
Villareal was taken to the Peoria Police Department where he was interviewed, processed, and later taken to Maricopa County Jail, where he was booked on the charges of 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault.
On April 2 at about 3:30 a.m., Peoria Police responded to a medical call in the area of 83rd Avenue and Jefferson Street. The caller advised that someone was in the road possibly having a seizure.
Upon arrival, officers found Jordan Gonzalez, 33, laying in the middle of the road. Officer’s rendered aid to him until Peoria Fire-Medical Department members responded to the scene and it was determined Gonzalez had been shot and died on scene.
