Meet your Peoria business: The Cheesecake Guy

Anthony Osuna brings his delicious desserts

When did you start your business?
I started my business in March of 2020.

Where did the idea come from?
The idea came from a couple of buddies of mine that really enjoyed my cooking. I was already in the business of making food such as meal preps and catering. So while we were hanging out they asked me to make cheesecake. I didn’t even think twice about, I just went home and made a cheesecake for them. Once they had the cheesecake they immediately called me and told me to sell it since it was the best they ever had. So there I was, coming up with a game plan to sell cheesecakes.

What is the nature of your business?
The nature of my business is selling the best cheesecake in the state of Arizona, but I also provide other services such as catering, personal chef experiences, and meal preps.

Why was it important to start the business in Peoria?
The business actually started in Glendale the first year, but Peoria has always been my family’s hometown, so I transitioned to Peoria and I plan to stay in Peoria even if I open a store.

What is unique about your business?
What makes my business unique is that I created the cheesecake recipe that my customers continue to say “Is the best.” You couldn’t find it online, or even in a book if you wanted to. It’s truly one of a kind, and that’s what makes it unique.

How did your business adjust to the pandemic? How have you changed your business model?
My business did take a slight hit during the pandemic as orders slowed down. I had to make changes with my menu, promotions, etc to get the ball rolling again. However, in the past year, business has been thriving and it continues to grow. Folks that are hours away have been driving out here just to get my cheesecake, so I would say it’s definitely been a turn around.

Anything interesting to share about you and the business?
Something interesting about me and my business is that I’m committed to the customer. I will go above and beyond for anyone that supports my business.

What are the hours?
I’m available pretty much 7 days a week. All I ask is that if you plan to order, place the order at least 24 hours in advance so that I can complete it.

Will you branch out and expand at any point/What are your plans for the future?
My plan for the future is to open up a bakery somewhere in Peoria. I would love to have a small shop so that I may provide all of my tasty desserts to the public.
