Former Peoria Unified candidate speaks up about her withdraw from race

Sticht offers to meet with election challenger

A former candidate for Peoria Unified governing board has spoken up about her withdraw from the race.

Natalee Sticht withdrew her name from the race during a pre-trial hearing last month after Eileen Mueller, a former West Valley Republican precinct chair, filed an election challenge claiming Sticht had insufficient signatures to qualify for the ballot.

During a recent school board meeting, Sticht said she attended the pre-trial meeting July 22 and specifically stated she did not wish to withdraw as she disagreed with a number of the challenges, but was told by the plaintiff’s attorney that if the case went to court the next day he would seek legal fees from Sticht.
