Deer Valley Unified to vote on remaining school boundary changes

Four options before board Tuesday as district seeks to balance declining enrollment, future growth

The Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board is expected to vote Tuesday on a new round of school attendance boundary changes, potentially resolving a portion of the district’s long-range enrollment plan that board members left undecided in June.

The vote marks another milestone in the district’s effort to redistribute students among campuses as enrollment declines in some neighborhoods while residential growth is anticipated in northern portions of the district.

The board on Tuesday night will consider four options affecting attendance boundaries in the Sandra Day O’Connor High School region, including areas currently assigned to Inspiration Mountain, Stetson Hills and Desert Sage schools.
