A new veterinary clinic is barking its way to Peoria

A new veterinary clinic is barking its way to Peoria.

The Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission approved a conditional-use permit to allow for the Deer Valley Animal Clinic to operate in an existing 3,600-square-foot suite within the shopping center at the southwest corner of Deer Valley Road and 83rd Avenue.

The facility will operate Monday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

Clinic activities will include the medical care of small animals, primarily dogs and cats.

The existing suite will be improved to accommodate the clinic reception area with ancillary retail for medications or prescription pet foods; exam rooms; diagnostic rooms for surgery or x-rays;  and  kennels  for  occasional  overnight  boarding  for  pets  that  need  medical  observation.

The clinic will offer spay/neuter, dental and vaccination services. The clinic will not offer hospitalizations.

There will be no outdoor dog run, storage yards, grooming, long-term kenneling or overnight care at the facility.

The purpose of the conditional-use  permit requirement is  to  ensure compatibility with the surrounding area, consistency with the Peoria general plan, and that the use is not injurious to the health, safety, and general welfare of the community.
