Upcoming key deadlines for Chandler special election

Registered Chandler voters are encouraged by the city to vote in the upcoming special election, according to a news release.

Ballots can be returned by mail in the paid affidavit envelope provided by Maricopa County Elections.

All voted ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 4. To return a voted ballot by mail, Maricopa County recommends mailing your signed and sealed envelope and ballot before Tuesday, Oct. 28, in time for the ballot to be received by Election Day.

Ballots received after the Nov. 4 date will not be counted. Postmarks do not count.

As an alternative to returning a ballot by U.S. mail, voted ballots may also be dropped off, starting Wednesday, Oct. 8–24, at the following three Chandler locations during the listed hours:

  • Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave., first floor, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Friday.
  • Chandler Unified School District office, 1525 W. Frye Road, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
  • Sun Lakes Fire Station 232, 25020 S. Alma School Road, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays

On Election Day, Nov. 4, the three Chandler locations will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for in-person voting.

In addition, these Chandler locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27–Friday, Oct. 31, and Monday, Nov. 3, to obtain a replacement ballot or to drop off a voted ballot.

Replacement ballots may be obtained at these locations listed above for voters who have ballots that are spoiled, destroyed or if the voter did not receive a ballot, per county provisions.

There are multiple locations throughout the Valley where Chandler voters can request a replacement ballot or drop off their voted ballots. To view the complete list, go to Locations.Maricopa.Vote.

As a reminder, registered voters have until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, to request a replacement ballot by mail. To request a replacement ballot by mail, call Maricopa County Elections at 602-506-1511.

Voters are reminded that this Special Election is conducted as a ballot-by-mail election. Each registered voter was sent a ballot by mail and a publicity pamphlet in early October.

The publicity pamphlet for this year's city elections can be viewed online at by clicking here. Voters may track their ballot status at BeBallotReady.Vote or sign up for the ballot status alerts by texting “JOIN” to 628-683.
