Mesa City Council to vote on rezoning for apartment complex on North Beverly

Posted

The Mesa City Council is set to vote on a rezoning that would pave the way for a planned apartment complex on North Beverly at their Aug. 18 meeting.

The meeting takes place at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 18 at 20 E. Main St.

The development is called Beverly Apartments, a planned three-story 36-unit development at 120 N. Beverly in Mesa.

The applicant is Tristam Kesti of Perlman Architects-AZ, who filed the application on behalf of site owner COPA Health.

According to a council report, the applicant requested the site be rezoned from multiple residence-2 and multiple residence-3 to multiple residence-4 with a planned area development overlay. The basic site plan for the proposed project includes a three-story building with 18 one-bedroom units, 10 two-bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units. Primary access would be on the north side of the project site from Beverly.

The council report says 44 parking spots would be provided. Amenities include a lounge, fitness center, computer area, playground area, dog park and more.

According to a council report, a meeting was held in April where attendees raised concerns about traffic, parking and other concerns. The applicant said Mesa city transportation staff found no concerns to be had about possible increased volume of traffic as a result of the development.
