Weekend freeway work to restrict US 60 in Mesa, I-10 near Sky Harbor

Several freeway projects are scheduled for the weekend, and drivers in east Mesa and those heading to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport should take special note of the work, state transportation officials said.
The following Valley spots will be affected by construction from Friday night until Monday morning Feb. 23-26:
Westbound Interstate 10 will be narrowedto three lanesbetween Broadway Road and 40th Street near Sky Harbor Airportfrom 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.
Work is continuing on the I-10 Broadway Curve improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. For more: i10BroadwayCurve.com.
The westbound I-10 ramp to eastbound US 60 will beclosed from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturdayfor paving.
The westbound I-10 on-ramp at Baseline Road will be closed along with the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Baseline Road. Detour: To connect with eastbound US 60, drivers on westbound I-10 can exit at Broadway Road and turn to enter eastbound I-10 (to reach the ramp to eastbound US 60). Note: The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Ray Road closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for construction. ADOT suggests drivers consider exiting at Chandler Boulevard.
Westbound US 60 will be closed between Crismon Road and Loop 202from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Mondayfor pavement improvement work.
The southbound Loop 202 ramp to westbound US 60 will be closed. The westbound US 60 on-ramps at Ironwood Drive plus Signal Butte and Meridian roads also will be closed. Detour: Consider exiting ahead of the closure and using alternate routes including westbound Baseline Road or Southern Avenue to travel beyond the closure.
Southbound Loop 101 will benarrowedto the left two lanes overnight in areas between US 60 and Loop 202 in the Tempe/Chandler areafrom 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday and Monday nightsfor lane striping work.
Both US 60 ramps to southbound Loop 101 will be closed. ADOT officials said to plan on other overnight on- and off-ramp closures along southbound Loop 101. Officials said drivers should consider alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Those near the work area should be on the alert for highway crews and equipment, they said.
