Four RV and boat storage buildings ranging from 3,200 to 27,000 square feet are planned as part of the 202 RV Valet Storage expansion west of Ellsworth Road and Main Street in Mesa.
A 58,845-square-foot expansion of a 202 RV Valet Storage boat and recreational vehicle storage facility is planned west of Ellsworth Road and Main Street in Mesa.
The development’s look and landscaping will be discussed by the Mesa Design Review Board at a 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9 meeting at City Hall, 20 E. Main St.
The board was to discuss the project during its Nov. 18 meeting but continued it to its next meeting because Chair Dane Astle, one of four members attending, would have needed to recuse himself as he is the applicant. That would have left the board without a quorum.
The site plan shows there will be four RV and boat storage buildings ranging from 3,200 to 27,000 square feet.
Astle of Edifice Architecture is the applicant. Germaine RV LLC is the owner.
The development will complete the vision of a collection of properties as a go-to center for boat and RV storage and renovation needs, Astle, principal architect and owner of Edifice LLC, wrote in a project narrative.
“The expansion will include a boat storage building, enclosed RV storage units and covered RV storage stalls. Existing facilities on site will be shared among the existing building and the expansion buildings,” he said.
The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
