Queen Creek Unified School District’s newest elementary school, Mountain Trail Academy in Mesa, is rapidly approaching completion.
Interior work is fully finished, painting has been completed, signs have been installed throughout the campus and in the coming weeks, furniture deliveries will begin, according to a QCUSD press release.
The school is located at 5626 S. Mountain Road.
“The atmosphere of MTA will be a place where staff, students and parents collaborate to create a supportive environment,” Mountain Trail Academy Principal Erin Pillsbury stated in the release.
Mountain Trail Academy is scheduled to open for the 2025–2026 school year this summer. QCUSD is offering several upcoming events for families to learn more about the school and engage with the Mountain Trail Academy community.
Tours on Tuesday will begin on May 20. While tours are available by request at any time, Tuesdays will offer a consistent option for families. Details on the tours will be shared on social media and through district communication channels.
The Kindergarten Round Up will take place on June 12 for families of incoming kindergarten students.
An MTA Playdate will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., June 17. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy the playground and meet members of the community.
A virtual parent question-and-answer session is planned for June 25 to provide a convenient opportunity for families to learn more about the school from the comfort of their homes.
On May 13, school staff hosted a Mountain Trail Academy kickoff party.
Pillsbury, along with teachers and staff, welcomed a large number of families eager to learn more about QCUSD’s newest school.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore the curriculum, meet staff and learn about enrichment opportunities through community education.
Many families enrolled on site, signed up for the parent teacher organization and participated in STEM activities hosted by Newell Barney College Prep students.
Families interested in learning more about Mountain Trail Academy or enrolling for the 2025–2026 school year can visit the Mountain Trail Academy website for more information.
