Boyfriend indicted for 2-year-old’s death in Mesa

A 23-year-old man has been indicted for the death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in Mesa.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced last week that a grand jury indicted Kishawn Porter on one count of first-degree murder and one count of child abuse.
On Sept. 29, Porter was caring for his girlfriend’s three children, ages 2, 3, and 4, authorities said.
“Early that morning, Porter called 911, alleging the 2-year-old boy had fallen off a bunk bed. The child was treated at Banner Desert Hospital, where he later died. The child had injuries primarily in the torso and rib area,” a Maricopa County Attorney’s Office release stated.
