Proposed changes to the City of Mesa’s historic preservation design guidelines and zoning ordinance will be discussed Wednesday by the Mesa Planning and Zoning Board.
The board meets at 3 p.m. for a study session and at 4 p.m. for a meeting Sept. 9 at City Hall, 20 E. Main St. in Mesa.
The proposed text amendments to the zoning ordinance consolidate related historic preservation provisions into a single historic preservation overlay chapter, reorganizing regulations and eliminating repetitive or outdated language, according to a written board report with five authors: Development Services Director Nana Appiah, Planning Director Mary Kopaskie-Brown, Assistant Planning Director Rachel Phillips, Historic Preservation Officer Matthew Kriegl and City Archaeologist Meghan Eaton.
