Join the Mesa Historical Museum for its annual walking tour of the historic Mesa Cemetery this Saturday.
The Mesa Cemetery Tour offers fascinating stories and grave-site visits, according to a release.
This year will be a self-guided tour of the cemetery, 1212 N. Center St. in Mesa, with special speakers at featured graves including Mayor John Giles at Ernesto Miranda’s grave, Vice Mayor Mark Freeman at Oscar Virgil Crismon’s grave, and a spotlight on missing Mayor Alexander Macdonald. There will also be a special stop at Waylon Jennings’ grave.
A professional genealogist will talk about a Mesa pioneer who has more than 20,000 direct descendants with a visual on how that many people come from one man.
Tickets are available for online purchase at mesamuseum.org.
Tickets are $15 or two for $25. The event is 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Tickets will also be available on the morning of the tour at the cemetery.
Tickets to the Cemetery Tour include free admission 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 to the Mesa Historical Museum.
