Mesa Community College invites the community to “The Future of Fashion” at 6 p.m. April 25 in the Navajo Room on the Southern and Dobson Campus, 1833 W. Southern Ave. in Mesa.

Free and open to the public, the event features more than 100 original designs by MCC fashion program students, according to a release.

“Our students’ enthusiasm and drive is what gives our program its energy. This fashion show showcases our student’s creative talents, pattern-making and sewing skills,” MCC Fashion Design Occupational Program Director Kimberly Broxham said in the release. “This year our fashion show production class along with student volunteers from our merchandising classes are showcasing their skills behind the scenes, providing valuable work experience for those planning for careers off the runway.”

Several student-designs will be presented on the runway of the Mesa Fashion Forward being presented by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce at Superstition Springs Mall (JCPenney Court) on April 20.

Unlike many fashion programs, MCC welcomes individuals interested in learning specific skills, such as draping or sewing, and those interested in earning a certificate of completion or an associate in applied science degree.
