Posted

The Mesa City Council voted 6-0 April 7 to approve using a $1 million cooperative term contract for security and protection systems for the Mesa Police Department.

Council member Francisco Heredia was absent.

The request was to use Omnia Partners/Region 4 ESC – TX cooperative contract with ADT Commercial LLC and Convergint Technologies LLC; and state of Arizona cooperative contract with APL Access and Security to provide necessary funding for upcoming and forecasted security projects across the city, according to council documents.

“PD Information Technology coordinates various security projects for the police department as well as other departments across the city,” the council documents read. “These purchases include access control, surveillance equipment, and other security systems as well as installation, replacement equipment, technology, parts and support.”

Some of the places where these security projects could be implemented include the Mesa Center for Higher Education, Mesa Arts Center, City Hall Tower, Mesa Convention Center and more.

Both contracts will be funded by the city’s department operating and lifecycle budgets. The Omnia contract is termed to run until March 31, 2026 while the state of Arizona contract is termed to run until July 28, 2025.
