The Mesa Council voted to approve a contract for legal processing services for the Mesa Police Department at its recent meeting.
The council voted 5-0 on Dec. 1 to approve a contract to Mesa business Hot Shot Legal Services LLC at $150,000 annually. Council members Jenn Duff and Francisco Heredia were absent.
The contract will establish services to allow the city to serve legal documents and transport them in a timely manner.
“This contract will establish legal processing services for the city departments including police, court, city attorney and code compliance to serve legal documents and provide same-day courier services and timely transport of documents,” the council documents stated. “The city requires services to be delivered with confidentiality, timeliness, thorough documentation and professionalism.”
The contract is termed for three years with a renewal option of up to two years. The contract will be funded by multiple funding sources depending on the department using the contract, according to council documents.
