The Mesa City Council approved a contract for a construction manager at risk for the rebuild of Fire Station 205 at their recent meeting.
The vote passed 7-0 as part of a multi-item consent agenda at the Nov. 3 meeting. The $9,407,484.72 contract will be awarded to FCI Constructors Inc. to complete the project.
Council documents say this is a continuation of a Public Safety Bond Initiative from 2022 that included the rebuild of the existing fire station at 730 S. Greenfield Road.
“The proposed station will contain three drive-thru apparatus bays, dorm rooms, office spaces, kitchen, dining room, dayroom, job/task conditioning areas, and associated operations-based functions,” council documents stated. “Rebuilding the station will allow the Mesa Fire and Medical Department to continue to support the current and future call volume demands in the area with a facility that is adequately sized to meet current standards for staff.”
The contract is funded by 2022 Public Safety Bonds.
