Posted

The Mesa City Council voted to approve a 16-month contract for heavy equipment, accessories, parts, supplies and more for the Facilities Management Department at their June 16 meeting.

The vote passed 6-0 with Councilmember Jen Duff absent. The contract will enable replacement and maintenance of 23 chillers across multiple city sites as well as other heavy and light equipment by establishing vendors.

“In the event of a chiller replacement, lead times typically range from six to 12 months. This contract will establish multiple vendors to provide rental services for a variety of heavy and light equipment on an as-needed basis,” council documents stated. “Available rental items include chillers, cooling towers, temporary HVAC equipment, and miscellaneous tools.”

The city will be using an Omnia Partners cooperative contract with Caterpillar Inc. at $250,000 annually. The contract is termed for 16 months and will run from June 16, 2025 to Oct. 2, 2026.

The contract has a renewal option of up to one year. According to council documents, the contract is funded by the Facilities Management operating budget.
