Mike Koester is the new chief executive officer of EPS Group, Inc., a civil engineering design firm headquartered in Mesa.

Koester has had various leadership and operational roles in the oil and gas, chemicals and manufacturing industries, according to a release.

He most recently served as senior vice president of western operations at Tetra Tech, Inc., where he oversaw strategic development and daily operations across markets including energy, industrial, commercial, municipal and federal government projects, the release stated.

"Mike's impressive track record and leadership qualities make him the ideal candidate to lead EPS Group into its next phase of growth," Bryan Kitchen, chair of the board of directors at EPS Group, said.

EPS Group is based in Mesa and has offices in Phoenix, Tucson and Goodyear along with Loveland, Colo., and Fort Worth, Texas.
