Industrial warehouse expansion planned in Mesa

Posted

A one-story light-industrial warehouse and office building is to be expanded near the northeast corner of Pecos Road and 89th Place in Mesa.

The development’s look and landscaping are to be discussed and voted on by the Mesa Design Review Board at a meeting that begins at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at City Hall, 20 E. Main St.

All development plans within the Gateway Airport Commerce Park subdivision are subject to review and approval by the design review board.

An approximately 4,920-square-foot Kaltech office and warehouse addition is planned on 1.7 acres. Primary access will be from two drives at 89th Place.

Bill Jeorling of LGE Design Build is the applicant. Kingdon Gateway LLC is the owner.

The project is an existing building and warehouse that is adding square footage and parking to the south, it states in a written project narrative from LGE Design Build.

“The building design, colors and materials will have a cohesive palette that maintains consistency throughout both the site and building elevations matching with the existing building and site landscaping. The character of the project maintains the character of site and neighboring architecture with added site walls and street curbing consistent with existing and surrounding details,” it states.

The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
