The Feb. 26-27 Hacktivate Mesa — a collaborative initiative between Mesa, local education institutions and the private sector — engages youth in civic life and provides Mesa government with a fresh approach to Mesa issues.
By understanding the youth viewpoint, cities can positively adjust their programs and services to create a better sense of belonging and produce better outcomes for future engagement, according to a release.
Through data science-driven events, Hacktivate Mesa brings students together to study and analyze data on Mesa’s most challenging issues while also promoting STEM, critical thinking, problem-solving, presentation skills and community involvement.
The event is 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 26-37, at The Post, 26 N. Macdonald in Mesa.
Registration at https://www.mesaaz.gov/Government/Data-Performance/Hacktivate-Mesa is for teachers/students in Mesa Public Schools. Others may email hacktivate@mesaaz.gov.
